Water media painting includes acrylics, watercolor, and pen and ink. I teach and paint using a multitude of different surfaces which include glass, paper, wood, metal, canvas, fabric, paper mache, enamelware, plastic, vinyl, and terra cotta. Subject matter varies from florals and nature to landscapes and seascapes on surfaces that vary from floorcloths to cards..
I construct jewelry using sterling silver, 14K gold, gold filled, and pewter with assorted beads and semi-precious gemstones. The style of my work ranges from Native American beadwork to casual to elegant. My work includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pins or brooches, watches, and amulet bags.

My education consists of an undergraduate degree in public policy research with an emphasis on behavioral and political science. My graduate degree is in education and the social sciences specializing in Immigrant Education. I have approximately 4 years of college level art training (2 years in the 1960s and 2 years in the 1980s). I have studied painting with many well known artists in the decorative painting field. I am a licensed instructor and consultant for Donna Dewberrys One Stroke Painting. My professional memberships include Brush and Palette Club of Lee County and the Society of Decorative Painters. I teach classes and workshops in one stroke and decorative painting as well as paper crafts and beadwork. I have been involved in the arts since childhood. Over the years, I have enjoyed working with pottery and ceramics, printmaking, painting, fashion design, interior design, and scrapbooking. My work has been and is currently displayed and sold in galleries. I have won ribbons of excellence in various shows and fairs.
I was born in Mass. As a Leo, I love color and style. I was a military brat (the oldest of 5) and we traveled a great deal as I was growing up. Arts and crafts traveled well and could be pursued no matter where I lived. I learned puppet making and paper crafts as a Girl Scout. I studied art and music through grade school and high school. In the 1960s, I wanted to be an artist, but my parents discouraged me in favor of pursuing my math and science abilities.    Art and music have always been a leisure time activity. In 1989 I was injured at work resulting in two surgeries and the diagnosis of Post Polio Syndrome. I was told not to return to work. I had my art to fall back on hence my new career ARTIST.
